Electrical / Electronics Engineer II

Overview

Seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineer with experience supporting communications, infrastructure, or electronic systems projects. This role involves working closely with engineering teams to develop installation designs, technical documentation, equipment deployment plans, and project execution activities for large-scale infrastructure upgrades. The position is based full-time in an office environment with occasional travel to field sites. Additional travel and occasional night/weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

+ Conduct site surveys and evaluate equipment space, power requirements, cabling routes, and infrastructure readiness.

+ Develop engineering designs, installation packages, technical drawings, and project documentation.

+ Design and support installation of communications equipment, equipment racks, and associated infrastructure.

+ Prepare copper, coaxial, and fiber-optic cabling designs, including grounding, bonding, and labeling requirements.

+ Support equipment installation, testing, inspections, turnover, and closeout activities.

+ Assist with removal and replacement of legacy systems.

+ Develop risk management, transition, and implementation plans.

+ Coordinate with stakeholders on technical requirements, schedules, costs, and project execution.

+ Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

+ 5+ years of experience in electronics, communications, infrastructure, or related engineering environments.

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

+ Knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and industry practices.

+ Eligible to pass federal-level background screening requirements.

+ Ability to travel as needed and work at active project or construction sites.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience supporting communications systems, transportation infrastructure, aviation systems, or other large-scale technical environments.

+ Background in equipment installations, communications infrastructure, and fiber-optic/copper cabling systems.

+ Experience with testing, inspections, commissioning, and system turnover activities.

+ Familiarity with risk management and implementation planning.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) credentials are a plus.

+ Experience using drawing markup and document review software.

+ Strong communication, coordination, and project support skills.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical or electronics engineer with experience supporting infrastructure and communications projects from design through installation and turnover. They should be comfortable balancing technical design work, site coordination, documentation, stakeholder communication, and field support activities in a highly regulated project environment.
