    Electrical Designer Nuclear

    Duration:

    Location: Perry, OH.

    Position Overview
    We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with nuclear industry experience for a contract-to-hire opportunity for our client in Perry, OH. This role is responsible for developing and producing detailed electrical design deliverables supporting plant modification and installation projects. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision while supporting multiple concurrent projects and coordinating across engineering disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and produce electrical design deliverables including wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, one-line and three-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams, and conduit/raceway layouts
    • Create and maintain complex 2D engineering drawings with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Review and check drawings for completeness, dimensional accuracy, spelling, and compliance with project design standards and specifications
    • Support field walkdowns as needed to verify existing conditions, obtain measurements, and develop as-built documentation and field sketches
    • Interface with project engineers and other disciplines to resolve design discrepancies and ensure coordinated design solutions
    • Communicate with client engineering and construction representatives to ensure designs meet applicable standards and project requirements
    • Exercise independent judgment in developing design solutions with limited direction from design leadership

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering drafting practices
    • Strong understanding of electrical and controls systems design principles
    • Experience producing and checking complex engineering drawings in an industrial or power generation environment
    • Experience with CADD tools; knowledge of Raster Design or 3D modeling tools is a plus
    • Additional training or coursework in basic electronics and/or electrical systems preferred
    • Prior nuclear plant modification or field experience strongly preferred

    Physical & Field Requirements

    • Ability to perform plant walkdowns in industrial and nuclear environments
    • May include climbing ladders, working at heights, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs
    • Must be able to access controlled, secured, and restricted areas
    • Exposure to industrial conditions such as high temperatures and regulated radiological environments may be required
    • Ability to develop field sketches and verify as-built conditions in active facility settings

    Additional Information

    • Must be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Strong communication and coordination skills across engineering and construction teams required
