Education Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus

Job Summary:

The Electrical Designer  will support electrical design efforts by collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop system layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams for industrial, building, and automation applications. This entry-level role requires strong proficiency in CAD software, a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, and the ability to contribute to design projects in a highly organized and detail-oriented manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to understand electrical design requirements and objectives

  • Develop electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.)

  • Design electrical systems for industrial machinery, building systems, and automation projects

  • Select and specify electrical components, equipment, and materials

  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NEC, IEEE)

  • Assist in code reviews and design updates

  • Work with engineers, architects, and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs

  • Identify and resolve design-related issues, providing innovative and compliant solutions

  • Create and maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Prepare technical documentation for project deliverables

  • Perform quality checks and peer reviews of electrical designs to ensure accuracy and completeness

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1–10 years of experience in electrical design or a related field

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks Electrical

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices

  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE)

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality deliverables

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience with PLC programming and control systems is a plus

  • Ability to build effective relationships with plant personnel, engineers, and vendors
