Electrical Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance team by troubleshooting equipment and control-system issues, including PLC ladder logic and data-handling functions in ControlLogix processors

• Maintain and update PLC programs, controls documentation, machine drawings, and electronic/paper archives received from equipment suppliers and used throughout the facility

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve automated equipment and controls, including I/O devices, HMIs, scanners, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, instruments, and related components to support production and safety goals

• Assist Maintenance personnel with pneumatic circuit troubleshooting, perform scheduled backups of machine-control and robotic programs, and develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs

• Apply electronic and instrumentation knowledge to diagnose equipment malfunctions, restore equipment to operation, assess process impacts from engineering or launch changes, and support 8D or similar root-cause problem-solving activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

• Minimum of 5 years of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive manufacturing experience is preferred

• Must have hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5, RSLogix 5000, ControlLogix, and PanelView development software

• Strong troubleshooting skills involving hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, including diagnosing issues between interconnected systems

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be flexible and willing to work off-shifts and overtime as needed to support manufacturing operations

Salary: $100k - $120k
