Electrical CAD Technician Transmission Line (T-Line) Experience

Our client is seeking an Electrical CAD Technician with Transmission Line (T-Line) experience to join their growing engineering team in Fort Worth, TX. This is an excellent contract-to-hire opportunity for a motivated drafting professional looking to support engineers, designers, and detailers on a variety of utility and power delivery projects.

The Electrical CAD Technician will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-quality engineering drawings and design documentation while ensuring compliance with client and company drafting standards. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals and build a long-term career within a dynamic engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers in producing accurate and detailed project drawings.
• Prepare and revise engineering drawings from sketches, layouts, markups, and design concepts.
• Assist with the preparation and revision of permit drawings, plot plans, and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain computer-aided drafting and design solutions for transmission and power-related projects.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company, client, and industry drafting standards and procedures.
• Support drafting and design efforts across multiple projects and disciplines.
• Utilize standard drafting detail programs and tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting quality and efficiency.
• Research project concerns and assist in identifying practical design solutions.
• Coordinate with project teams to support project schedules and deliverables.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Coursework in Drafting Technology or a specialized CAD Certification required.
• Experience supporting electrical, utility, transmission line, or power delivery projects.
• Understanding of drafting principles, standards, and documentation practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, grow, and develop professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Transmission Line (T-Line) project experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Previous experience supporting engineering, utility, or power infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with permitting and construction drawing packages.
