    Description

    Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Reliability Specialist to elevate uptime and safety across a mining operation. Do you thrive on solving tricky controls issues, keeping systems compliant, and making improvements that last?

    Your impact

    • Will you lead once-per-shift safety inspections of your work area following federal mining rules—and increase frequency when conditions change?
    • Can you diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and instrumentation assets throughout the facility to keep production steady?
    • Do you use portable test gear and onboard diagnostics to find, isolate, and resolve instrumentation malfunctions efficiently?
    • Are you ready to swap out faulty components and verify reliability and accuracy after repairs?
    • Will you own preventive maintenance for controls, recorders, gas analyzers, automatic weight devices, and similar equipment?
    • Can you install control devices, indicating instruments, recorders, SCR drives, and PLCs during construction projects, upgrades, and machine modifications?
    • Will you maintain tidy workspaces that eliminate slip, trip, and fall hazards?
    • Are you committed to performing every task in accordance with MSHA, federal and state regulations, and company policies?
    • Can you assemble and maintain a complete personal tool kit within 90 days of your start date (tool list provided)?
    • Will you safely operate mobile equipment only after proper task training in line with MSHA?

    You’ll excel if you have

    • Dependability and consistent safety/attendance.
    • Robust electrical fundamentals and applied skills.
    • Basic understanding of instrumentation—or the motivation to learn both instrumentation and electrical repair.
    • Basic computer literacy with the capacity to learn control systems and programming.
    • Confidence to work independently and communicate directions clearly.

    Must-have background

    • At least 4 years of verifiable electrician experience in mining or heavy industry.
    • Hands-on experience with electrical meters, including megger testing motors and cables.
    • Proven capability to troubleshoot AC/DC motor starters, VFDs, and power distribution.
    • Familiarity with CEM (Continuous Emissions Monitoring) systems.
    • Experience working with pressure/flow transmitters, RTDs, and thermocouples.
