As our Electric Power Delivery practice continues to grow, Halff is seeking an experienced Senior Electric Distribution Engineer (PE) to join our Energy team as TeamLeader in our Houston, Texas office location. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a passion for technical excellence, team development, client relationships, and business growth. 

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for cooperatives, municipalities, or investor-owned utilities.

What you will do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Electric Distribution team by providing technical guidance, coaching, and leadership.
• Manage team performance, workload planning, staffing, quality, profitability, and overall operational success.
• Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution projects ranging from moderate to complex in scope.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Direct project managers and technical staff while maintaining accountability for project execution and client satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with company leadership to align team goals with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Manage project budgets, contracts, schedules, resources, and subconsultants.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and project delivery.
• Support work-sharing efforts across Halff offices and practices to maximize resources and client success.
• Make sound business, project, and personnel decisions while fostering a positive team culture.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

What you will need:

• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Valid driver's license.
• 10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electric utility design software.
• Experience with CAD-based and GIS-based design tools for electric power infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards, including NESC and NEC.
• Demonstrated success leading projects, managing teams, and delivering high-quality client solutions.
• Proven business development and client relationship management experience.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, leadership, and technical teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to work from or near one of Halff's Texas office locations.
