Pay Rate: $1,300 – $1,311/Week

Position Overview
We are seeking a EKG technician to perform specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing, including EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Stress Tests.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.

• Medical Terminology course completion or successful CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam.

• BLS certification.

• PBT (ASCP) Certification.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, blood draws, and transportation of specimens to the Laboratory.

• Perform non-invasive cardiology testing, including EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Stress Tests.

• Properly identify patients and provide specimen collection instructions.

• Complete required laboratory forms, test ordering, billing information, and documentation.

• Communicate changes in patient orders, testing requirements, workflow, and technical issues.

• Assist nursing units with specimen collection and testing requirements.

• Handle and resolve specimen collection issues and support quality assurance activities.

• Maintain clean, sanitary, and properly stocked testing areas and equipment.

• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and report supply issues.

• Train and mentor staff members and clinical students as directed.

• Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, visitors, clinical staff, and coworkers.

• Follow PPE, patient safety, infection control, and department procedures.

• Participate in staff meetings, mandatory programs, and ongoing professional development.
