Job Description

Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add an EKG/Stress Technician in our Diagnostic Cardiology Unit at Baptist Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Full-Time opportunity with a shift of Monday - Friday, 2:45pm - 11:15pm, and every fourth weekend 7:00am - 7:00pm.

EKG Stress Technician, Job Responsibilities;

• Properly placing leads and performing EKGs with accuracy, ensuring clear tracings and high-quality results for physician interpretation.
• Maintaining detailed and organized work logs, while efficiently sending orders and completed studies to reading physicians in a timely manner.
• Preparing patients for stress testing (regular, nuclear, and echo) by properly prepping skin, ensuring patient comfort, and providing clear instructions to ease anxiety.
• Placing monitors and obtaining vital signs, while observing patient status and reporting any abnormal findings immediately to supervising clinicians.
• Providing assistance and reassurance to patients undergoing stress testing, offering both clinical support and compassionate care to enhance the overall patient experience.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other members of the cardiology team to support seamless patient care and uphold departmental standards.
• Adhering to safety protocols, infection control policies, and maintaining a clean, well-organized work environment to promote efficiency and patient safety.

Stress Tech, Diagnostic Cardiology Unit, Experience;

• 1-2 years Experience performing EKG
• Experience performing Holter application

Education & Credential Requirements;

• High School Diploma Required
• Associates of Science Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
