Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician
Location: Pomona, CA
Shift: 7 AM to 4 PM
Pay: 25/hr.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician to support environmental compliance, workplace safety, industrial hygiene, and regulatory programs within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting with EHS training, audits, investigations, hazardous waste management, environmental reporting, fire protection, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, MIOSHA, and other applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain environmental, health, safety, and industrial hygiene records and documentation.
  • Support plant safety committee activities and EHS initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver EHS presentations and employee training programs.
  • Conduct EHS orientations and training, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), environmental compliance, and safety procedures.
  • Perform routine plant safety inspections, audits, and facility walkthroughs.
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments.
  • Support environmental compliance activities and maintain environmental permits.
  • Manage hazardous waste activities, including storage, pickups, disposal, and shipment preparation.
  • Complete environmental reports accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the plant fire protection system and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Support recycling and sustainability initiatives.
  • Review equipment installations and process modifications for EHS compliance.
  • Maintain the plant EHS database and documentation.
  • Partner with department managers and supervisors to reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and property damage.
  • Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 23 years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or 23 years of Client experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, DOT, MDEQ, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management and environmental compliance.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
