The EHS Systems Specialist is responsible for overseeing the effective operation and continuous improvement of Reliance’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) digital ecosystem, ensuring systems are reliable, standardized, and aligned with organizational objectives while creating synergies and optimization throughout Reliance’s network of companies and operations. The position will support the harmonization between operational EHS and the suite of digital platforms and systems used through the organization. The EHS Systems Specialist will leverage their EHS knowledge to ensure Reliance’s digital systems are properly configured, maintained and supported to support Group and site EHS compliance, improve communications and visibility, create leading indicator tools and resources, and provide better, more reliable and transparent reporting – all aimed to reduce workplace injuries, environmental events, and any non-conformance situations. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the role will support system implementations, new site/business integrations, and technology enhancements to improve accessibility, efficiency, and overall EHS program performance. The position also plays a key role in transforming EHS metrics and data into meaningful insights by developing dashboards, reports, and leading and lagging performance metrics for inclusion in weekly and monthly EHS reports using data calculation and visualization tools such as SQL, Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.

Job Function:• Administer Reliance’s EHS digital system solutions, provide support for end users, address end-user process questions and conduct end-user training, implement process/system enhancements for system configuration, and drive the organization toward system standardization. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as necessary.
• Lead the configuration and support the deployment of EHS digital system solutions to new facilities, implement new system modules at existing facilities, validate data through periodic auditing, and verify system configuration.
• Support Corporate EHS with environmental, health and safety program development and provide guidance to facilities on ad hoc EHS issues.
• Work with functional leadership to consolidate data, analyze and review trends, and develop reports to support data-driven decisions and identify area of continual improvement for EHS.
• Serve as the administrator of existing global EHS visualization tools, including Microsoft Power BI, SQL and/or Tableau.
• Perform regular data mining in EHS system tools to prepare monthly and ad hoc reports as well as executive level reports and summaries - to include but not limited to graphs, tables, and trending data.
• Assist with development of standardized EHS performance metrics from various EHS system tools.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to work on identifying and deploying new technology solutions to enhance EHS performance and programs, with a focus on developing sustainable systems to improve access, quality, costs, and organization.
• Act as the liaison with IT function to support and maintain the various EHS system integrations across the company.
• Maintain RSpace and SharePoint for functional use.
• The position will also support the integration of Fleet Safety programs and systems to create a seamless, fully integrated function, while supporting the optimization of current systems in use.
The successful candidate must have:
• A relevant EHS-related technical degree (i.e., chemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering, or environmental science/safety), analytical degree or IT-related degree.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations, EHS cultures and systems, data analysis and risk mitigation techniques.
• Strong mastery of data analytics and visualization tools, including Microsoft Power BI.
• Understanding of the various EHS data management tools in use at Reliance, and those available on the market that can support Reliance’s growth and improvement in the EHS space.
• Ability to analyze, translate, and define EHS business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication, organization, and team/collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting project commitments.
• Self-motivated and able to function independently; works with minimum guidance and direction to meet goals.
• Be able to travel up to 30%, with no travel limitations to any Reliance, Inc. operating locations.
• Understand and apply Reliance philosophies and expectations on EHS compliance, reporting, needs and drivers to improve global performance.
• Conduct work with the highest level of ethical standards in adherence to Reliance values.
