    Why do we need you ?

    The EHS Supervisor is responsible for leading the execution and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at the site. This role drives a proactive safety culture, ensures regulatory and company compliance, and partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to reduce risk and support safe, reliable production.

    The EHS Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership, sets expectations for safe work, develops team capability, and ensures that risks, incidents, and corrective actions are managed effectively.

    Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role is responsible for supervising EHS employees hourly and ensuring site activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

    Safety Leadership and Execution

    • Set clear expectations for safe execution across all departments.
    • Hold employees and contractors accountable for safety performance and recognize safe behaviors.
    • Maintain strong field presence to reinforce standards and coach leaders.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, permits, and regulatory requirements.

    Risk Management and Incident Response

    • Lead risk assessments, JSAs, and cross-functional reviews to identify hazards.
    • Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and remove barriers to resolution.
    • Ensure timely reporting, notifications, and closure of corrective actions.
    • Monitor trends and use data to prioritize risk reduction efforts.

    EHS Systems, Compliance, and Reporting

    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of EHS metrics and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain audit readiness and represent the site in audits and inspections.
    • Use KPI trends and benchmarks to identify gaps and drive improvements.
    • Support and sustain EHS management systems and site standards.

    Training, Coaching, and Team Development

    • Develop EHS capability across the site through coaching and feedback.
    • Support delivery of training programs and track completion.
    • Build EHS ownership within operations and develop site safety champions.
    • Foster a positive, accountable work environment.
    • Ensure employees receive appropriate training and follow established operating procedures and work instructions.
    • Review and approve employee time records and ensure accurate payroll administration in accordance with company policies.

    Continuous Improvement and Change Leadership

    • Drive implementation of site EHS programs and initiatives (MOC, RRP, audits).
    • Remove barriers and align resources to support execution.
    • Sustain improvements through routines such as audits, KPI reviews, and follow-up.
    • Lead site-wide initiatives such as machine guarding, LOTO, or contractor safety.

    Planning and Business Integration

    • Develop and execute EHS plans aligned with site KPIs and risk priorities.
    • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to balance safety and production needs.
    • Allocate resources based on risk and operational priorities.
    • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives as part of site performance.

    Resource and Stakeholder Management

    • Manage EHS-related spend and support budgeting activities.
    • Control vendor and contractor services related to EHS programs.
    • Build strong relationships across departments and address issues or conflicts effectively.
    • Ensure clear communication of EHS expectations to employees, contractors, and leadership.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, engineering, business, or a related field required.
    • A minimum of three years of leadership experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) within a manufacturing operations environment is required.
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams, coaching employees, and driving performance results.
    • Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and commitment to creating a safe work environment.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with the ability to evaluate information and implement effective solutions.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
    • Fluent in ISO and ISA methodology.
    • OSHA 10 and 30 hour certification.
    • Machine guarding and equipment lifecycle safety knowledge.
    • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods.
    • Leadership and team development.
    • Conflict resolution and ability to drive accountability.
    • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
    • Effective communication across all levels.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and/or 5S methodologies.
    • Experience using UKG, SAP, or other manufacturing and workforce management systems.
    • Experience leading continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility and remain active for extended periods during the shift; must be able to work 40-50 hours per week.
    • Ability to frequently observe production processes, equipment, and employee work activities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication methods.
    • Ability to occasionally climb stairs, platforms, and ladders and navigate industrial work environments safely.
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to heat, cold, humidity, dust, fumes, noise, moving equipment, and other industrial conditions while utilizing required personal protective equipment.
    • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to operational, safety, and employee-related situations as they arise.
    • Occasional travel (up to 10%) for training and development opportunities may be required.
