EHS Sr Specialist

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior EHS Specialist for a defense manufacturing company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in environmental, health & safety compliance looking to further their career in manufacturing safety.

• Own EHS compliance programs and documentation, including policies, training records, and incident reports
• Deliver safety and environmental training; update management on program status
• Inspect facilities, equipment, and processes; monitor hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive changes
• Serve as hands-on site EHS resource on the plant floor; occasional travel (about one week every other month)

Essential Qualifications

• Associates degree and 5-7 years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• EHS experience with inspections, investigations, training, and OSHA/EPA compliance (limited EHS exposure considered)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); self-starter able to work independently

Bonus Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field
• Explosives, energetics, or ordnance manufacturing experience
