SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Identify,evaluate,andanalyzeworkenvironments to create and manage programsandprocedures that eliminate or control workplace hazards while helping to build a proactive safety culture. Will conduct and drive safety training, audits, policies, procedures, and safety culture initiatives for front-line leadership and line staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teammembermust be able to work in a teamorientedandsafetyconsciousenvironment.Responsible for driving safety at the site level for all locations in their regional node.
  • Identifyhazardousconditionsandpractices. Identifypotentialhazards in existingequipment,machinery,facilities, or processes while partnering with key stakeholders to drive risk reduction and finding closures
  • Developsandhelpenforce a plan to eliminatehazards,conductingtrainingsessions for management, supervisors,andworkersonhealthandsafetypracticesandregulations,asnecessary
  • Inspectandtestmachineryandequipment,suchas lifting devices,machineshields, or scaffolding,to ensuretheymeetappropriatesafetyregulations
  • Monitorspersonalprotectiveequipmentuse in workplaces to ensure compliance withregulations and expectations
  • Communicatewithworkersand front-line supervision to drive a proactive safety culture through positive behavior recognition, while using key safety tools to improve site safety awareness, culture, and communications
  • If a safety incidentoccurs,investigatepossible root cause make corrective action recommendations
  • Analyzesdataandpreparesreports for HealthandSafetyMetrics to include:SiteScorecard, Trend Analysis, Observations & Behaviors,uses the data to provideLeading & LaggingIndicatorsReports
  • Developsoccupationalhealthandsafetysystems; including policies,procedures,andmanuals
  • Documentsafetyinspections,citingdangerousareas/proceduresandrecommendingcorrective procedures.  Makes recommendations on appropriate PPE and safety equipment inventory at sites
  • Perform safetyaudits, visits, projects, and deliverables. Recognize and reinforce positive behaviors
  • Ordersuspension of activitiesthatposethreats to workershealthandsafety
  • Mustmaintain a consistentandgoodattendancerecord in accordancewithCompanypolicy
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations
  • Supports and manages the CaseManagement of occupationalinjuries.Report to management on the status of occupationalhealthandsafetyprograms

TRAVEL:

  • Regular travel is required and will be based primarily throughout the regional node and business needs.
  • Average time spent traveling will likely exceed 50% and be based on business needs

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Managessafetytrainingandeducationprograms;demonstrate the use of safetyequipment
  • Facilitates new employeehealthandsafetyorientationsandmanages/develops the material for these trainingclasses
  • Has the ability to fill in for the Safety Manager and/or Director in times of need; Consultationwith customer, physicians, work comp personnel & legal may be
  • Prepareandcalibratescientificequipment in ordertomeasureandcontrolhazardoussubstances, or conditionssuchasnoise or radiationlevels
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner

EDUCATION:

Possess a college degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management or similar field and OSHA 30-hour Contractor Safety Course completion and/or OSHA 30-hour GeneralIndustry Safety Course.

EXPERIENCE:

Possess a minimum of threeyears’ experience in the industrialmaintenance, distribution, manufacturing, or constructionfields; Demonstrates proficiency in creating / working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 80,750.00 - $95,000.00
