Our client is seeking
EHS Specialists for four manufacturing facilities across the United States. These on-site positions are responsible for implementing and supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at the facility level while partnering closely with operations, human resources, and site leadership.
The
EHS Specialist will serve as a local resource for environmental and workplace safety requirements, helping ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accurate records, deliver employee training, and continuously improve site EHS programs. This role requires someone who can communicate effectively across all levels of a manufacturing organization and confidently provide guidance on safety and environmental matters.
Responsibilities of the EHS Specialist will include:- Coordinate with site teams to implement the EHS program and related policies.
- Audit the effectiveness of site EHS programs, including participation in the annual corporate audit.
- Provide EHS training to site personnel.
- Maintain required safety and environmental records.
- Maintain workers' compensation files and investigate workplace incidents.
- Generate required internal and external EHS reports.
- Execute site inspection programs related to safety and environmental regulations.
- Accompany state, federal, and local regulatory inspectors during facility visits.
- Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Serve as the site's local expert on EHS requirements and provide guidance to the leadership team.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and human resources on safety and environmental initiatives.
- Support multiple facilities and corporate or nationwide EHS projects as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role of EHS Specialist:- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and 2 years of manufacturing experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing compliance within a manufacturing facility operating under a Title V Air Permit.
- Experience managing a Respiratory Protection Program and Hearing Conservation Program.
- Familiarity with Powered Industrial Truck safety and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, establish goals, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present information and conduct training for groups of employees.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leadership across multiple functions and organizational levels.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
