    Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review corporate safety and environmental policies/procedures and implements to site level standards and requirements.
    • Develop, write, review and audit site programs for compliance with governmental and/or industry consensus standards. Update/implement changes as needed.
    • Complete EHS evaluations for new projects, facility and equipment modifications.
    • Investigate employee incidents, near misses, and employee concerns regarding safety, health, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, etc.
    • Develop and conduct requisite EHS training (New Hire Orientation, respiratory protection, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, electrical safety, hazardous materials shipping and disposal, and machine guarding, etc.)
    • Perform follow-up and ensure closure of safety related corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and recommendations from various corporate organizations and internal/external audits as assigned by manager.
    • Perform various EHS related inspections for storm water, SPCC, hazardous waste, spill response, fall protection equipment, ladders, sprinkler systems, etc.
    • Prepare regulatory reports and compile data to support them.
    • Coordinate hazardous material shipments and complete environmental and hazardous material regulatory reporting as needed with manager oversight.
    • Responsible for chemical hazard awareness, hazmat shipment oversight and contractor/constructions related safety programs.
    • Follow up on inspection program findings as assigned.
    • Good working knowledge of risk assessment tools and techniques (JHA, PHA, FMEA, and HAZOP) is required.

    Responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and auditing environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs that meet internal requirements as well as compliance with government regulations and/or industry consensus requirements. Maintains knowledge of current industry and regulatory EHS trends and provides subject matter expertise (SME) to plant in this area. Assists with creating short- and long-range plans to continuously improve plant EHS practices and procedures. Assist with environmental duties as assigned or needed. Principle accountability is to promote a "best in class" EHS culture, obtaining cooperation and engagement from site leaders and employees in all job classifications. Act as a Business Partner with specific departments at the site.
