EHS COORDINATOR, Civil and Environmental Engineering, to be the co-chair of the CEE EHS Committee. Parsons and Pierce lab Director's serves as co-chair, with other committee members including space staff. The EHS Coordinator, working with the EHS Committees, recommends corrective actions or consequences for significant issues to the PI and/or lab directors as appropriate and assists in implementation of the corrective actions and consequences. In the case of significant safety issues, the EHS Coordinator will promptly notify the PI, CEE space directors, Department Head, and the DLC EHS Committees. The EHS Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all research personnel (graduate students, postdocs, visiting scientists, faculty members, UROP students, etc.) receive the appropriate required initial safety training prior to beginning work. This is accomplished by a review of training records during processing of the Lab Clearance Form that is required for all new people working in labs that fall under the DLCs in the EHS-MS. The EHS Coordinator also monitors completion of refresher training through periodic reviews of DLC training records.
