Orafol America's in Wallingford CT is seeking a full-time experienced EHS Coordinator/Facilities Maintenance candidate. Typical work hours are 7 AM-3:30 PM Monday -Friday. Pay range of $38 per hour-$46 per hour commensurate with experience to start.

Job Purpose:
- The EHS Coordinator/Facilities Maintenance at ORAFOL Americas Inc is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment by managing environmental, health, and safety programs, as well as overseeing the maintenance and functionality of the company's facilities. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and compliance, while also ensuring that the physical infrastructure supports business operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building upkeep.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Provide support in budget planning for EHS and facilities maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience in facilities maintenance and management, including oversight of building systems and equipment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using EHS management software and tools.
