OVERVIEW:
The ESH Assistant Manager leads and supports the development, implementation, and continual improvement of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) programs across our four KSB GIW, Inc. locations. This role ensures regulatory and management‑system compliance, advances sustainability initiatives, supports audits and reporting, and leads cross‑functional projects in support of companywide goals to eliminate work‑related injuries through proactive risk elimination, robust systems, and continuous improvement.
The role also fosters a proactive safety culture by engaging employees, tracking leading and lagging indicators, and implementing measurable risk‑reduction initiatives.

Regular plant‑floor walkthroughs and inspections (walking, standing, climbing stairs/step ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling)
Wearing required PPE during site visits (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toe footwear)
Reading and preparing technical documents; in‑person and phone communication
Occasionally:
Lifting and carrying items up to 25-50 lbs (tools, samples, small equipment)
Entering confined spaces or working at elevated locations when required (with permits/controls)
Travel between sites (day trips and occasional overnight stays)
Periodic medical/fit‑for‑duty tasks (e.g., respirator fit testing) and responding to off‑hour incidents or drills
