    Description

    Job Title: EHR Security Coordinator
    Job Summary: The EHR Security Coordinator is responsible for safeguarding the security and integrity of the organization's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role ensures compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations by managing access controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. The coordinator works closely with IT, compliance, and clinical teams to implement robust security measures and maintain regulatory standards.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage EHR access controls and role-based access (RBAC).
    • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments (NIST 800-53, HIPAA, SSA, IRS Pub 1075).
    • Develop and maintain EHR-specific security policies and procedures.
    • Monitor for threats and respond to security incidents and breaches.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure compliance and integrate security into EHR updates and projects.
    Qualifications:
    • 7+ years of IT security experience, preferably in healthcare.
    • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data protection standards.
    • Experience with identity management, RBAC, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
    • Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
    Preferred Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
    • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or HCISPP are highly preferred.
