    Description

    cFocus Software seeks a Mid-Level AV/VTC Technician to join our program supporting the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This position is onsite in Washington, DC. This position requires a Public Trust or the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of six years of professional experience providing AV/VTC support in an enterprise environment similar in size and complexity to the EEOC.
    • Hands-on experience operating and supporting enterprise video conferencing and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Poly RealPresence.
    • Working knowledge of VTC endpoints, codecs, DSPs, control systems, cameras, microphones, audio mixers, presentation switchers, streaming and recording systems, projection systems, LED displays, digital signage, and public-address systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot AV, video, audio, hardware, software, network-connectivity, and interoperability issues and recognize when escalation is required.
    • Experience supporting live, virtual, and hybrid events, including executive meetings, hearings, town halls, webinars, training events, webcasts, or conferences.
    • Experience performing routine preventive maintenance, firmware and software updates, system monitoring, documentation, ticket management, and equipment inventory support.
    • Strong customer-service and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with executives, presenters, end users, technical teams, vendors, and geographically dispersed stakeholders.
    • Professional command of the English language and the ability to create clear ticket, maintenance, and operational documentation.
    • Ability to work full-time on-site at EEOC Headquarters and provide approved travel, after-hours, weekend, or on-call support when operational requirements demand it.
    • Must currently possess or be able to favorably complete the required five-year employment background investigation for a Public Trust position, normally initiated through Standard Form 85P, and meet applicable OPM suitability standards.

    Duties:

    • Operate, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot AV/VTC systems in conference rooms, training facilities, executive meeting spaces, and virtual or hybrid environments.
    • Provide operational support for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Poly RealPresence, webinars, breakout rooms, and other approved collaboration platforms.
    • Schedule and manage virtual meetings; coordinate multi-location connections; monitor audio and video quality; and resolve routine connectivity, interoperability, and user issues.
    • Support setup, rehearsal, execution, recording, streaming, and post-event activities for Commission hearings, town halls, executive meetings, training sessions, webcasts, conferences, and other official events.
    • Operate cameras, microphones, public-address systems, audio mixers, video and presentation switchers, recording systems, streaming platforms, projection systems, LED displays, digital signage, and computer presentation systems.
    • Configure and troubleshoot VTC endpoints, codecs, digital signal processors, control systems, displays, and related network-connected AV equipment.
    • Perform live video switching, audio mixing, camera operation, recording, presentation support, and real-time quality monitoring under established production plans.
    • Receive, document, track, update, and resolve AV/VTC service requests and trouble tickets submitted by EEOC personnel at Headquarters and field-office locations.
    • Diagnose issues involving audio quality, video transmission, conferencing platforms, network connectivity, codec performance, hardware, and system interoperability.
    • Apply documented troubleshooting procedures, record corrective actions, and escalate unresolved or complex incidents through established channels within required timelines.
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, routine inspections, firmware and software updates, equipment testing, and approved lifecycle support activities.
    • Monitor system health, availability, and performance and report recurring issues, capacity concerns, or recommended improvements to senior AV/VTC personnel.
    • Maintain accurate tickets, maintenance records, system configurations, standard operating procedures, equipment inventories, licensing, and warranty information.
    • Coordinate with EEOC customers, field-office coordinators, IT teams, senior AV/VTC staff, vendors, and manufacturers to resolve incidents and support repair activities.
    • Provide end-user assistance, presenter orientation, and basic training on conference-room technologies, collaboration tools, and AV/VTC best practices.
    • Support ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and service-management activities and participate in approved special projects, upgrades, equipment replacements, and new AV/VTC standards.
    • Travel when approved to support Commission hearings, meetings, official events, site evaluations, maintenance, and field-office AV/VTC requirements.
