    The School District of Niagara is seeking a qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support a deaf or hard of hearing student in a variety of educational settings. This position plays an important role in facilitating clear and effective communication between the student, peers, and school staff.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide one-on-one interpreting support for a student in the classroom and school environment
    • Interpret and/or transliterate classroom instruction, discussions, and multimedia materials
    • Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff
    • Adapt communication methods to meet the individual needs of the student
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers and teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
    • Serve as a liaison to support positive relationships between the student and others
    • Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development
    • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the RID Code of Ethics

    Qualifications:

    • Associate's Degree
    • Valid Wisconsin DPI #884 Educational Interpreter license
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and support student needs

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with students in an educational setting
    • Ability to provide oral interpreting

    Position Details:

    • Full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year
    • Potential opportunity for shadowing prior to the start of the school year
    • Salary is negotiable based on experience

    Start Date:

    August 2026, in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year
