The School District of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah seeks two highly qualified Special Education Assistants beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Educational assistants work with students with a variety of needs in both the general education and special education resource settings. They assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs, and work under the general supervision of the certified special education teacher and Pupil Services Director. These positions are 27.5 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Help teachers prepare instructional materials.
Provide student assistance to help develop independence.
Assist in carrying out lessons to students as arranged by the teacher, including working with students on an individual or small group basis.
Make needed adaptations and accommodations for students'' academic programming in general education classes as developed by the special education teacher.
Follow each student''s individual behavioral plan as well as the classroom behavior management plan.
Help manage students'' behavior which includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or dangerous student behavior as needed.
Keep teachers informed of the special needs or problems of individual students.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.

District Description: The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District is a small rural school district in Sheboygan County. The district connects community children to the Resorter family by offering a childcare program, and a wide variety of high-level learning and extra-curricular opportunities through Grade 12. The District had the 5th highest DPI District Report Card score in Wisconsin for the 2024-2025 school year, scoring in the "Significantly Exceeds Expectations" category. The district has a student population of 530 students. Many of these students open-enroll to the district to take advantage of the small class sizes, caring staff, one-on-one attention, and quality class offerings.
