Huntington Learning Center is looking for an organized, energetic professional to support students, families, and teachers while helping our learning center run smoothly.
This varied role combines tutoring, family communication, scheduling, and center operations. You'll work directly with students to build academic skills and confidence while creating a welcoming experience for families and our team of instructors.
What You'll Do:
Tutor & Support Students:
- Tutor students one-on-one across multiple grade levels and subject areas.
- Administer academic evaluations for new students.
- Help students build academic skills, confidence, and motivation.
Support Families & Teachers:
- Welcome families and communicate by phone, email, and text.
- Monitor student progress and help ensure a positive learning experience.
- Assist with teacher onboarding, training, and day-to-day support.
Coordinate Center Operations:
- Manage student and teacher schedules, appointments, and calendars.
- Handle administrative tasks, payments, invoicing, and payroll tracking.
- Support daily operations, marketing, and community outreach.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- At least one year of tutoring, teaching, or comparable experience working directly with students required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
- Familiarity with MS Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and similar technology.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with children and helping them succeed.
Schedule:
Part-time — up to 30 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling within the following hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00–8:00 p.m.
- Friday: 3:00–7:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

About Company
The Huntington Learning Center in La Grange Park is proud to serve the communities of La Grange, La Grange Park, Western Springs, Brookfield, Riverside, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Lyons, Bellwood, Westchester and parts of Chicago. We have a team of capable, caring professionals that work with students from Kindergarten through high school.
We have an excellent reputation as is evident by the fact that over half of the families that we serve come to us through a friend or family recommendation. We strive to provide each student with the best education possible.
We are proud to provide skill work to students in reading, writing, math, phonics and study skills. We are also home to the premier ACT/SAT program in the area. Our ACT preparation has seen our students average a 4.5 point increase on the exam. 4.5 points! We also provide subject specific tutoring in math and science.
All tutoring is done by certified teachers.
We are proud to be active members of our communities as we are involved with both the La Grange Park Chamber and and West Suburban Chamber of Commerce. We reserve our greatest pride for the hundreds of students that we have helped in the 20 plus years that we have been open.
At the 2018 National Convention, Huntington honored outstanding centers with awards for center growth, student enrollment, customer service and other achievements. Garry Fairfield of the La Grange, IL center was awarded the Commitment to Student Success Award and Executive Chairman’s Club Award for superior customer service.
