    EDM Technician
     
    SUMMARY: Proficiently produce spare parts and engineering changes for FB dies.
     
    PAY RATE:  The starting rate for our Die Shop Employees is $ 16 - $ 28 an hour based upon experience and certifications
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    Run wire EDM, Sinker EDM program and set up
     
    Maintain proper inventory for machine spare parts
     
    Perform preventative maintenance cleaning for machines.
     
    Maintain documentation of maintenance performed on all EDM machines
     
    Perform machine specific cleaning procedures.
     
    Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
     
    Works inside plant where there is a great deal of noise.  The work may be dusty, dirty and greasy. Exposed to chemicals in coolants and handles sharp edged metal.
    Works on a hard surface; stands, stoops, bends and lifts heavy objects (approximately 100 lbs.).  May be necessary to operate more than one machine at a time.

    MINIMUM SKILLS AND EDUCATION PREFERRED:
    High School diploma or GED; one (1) year machine shop certificate or equivalent experience; ability to read a blueprint; basic math ability, working knowledge of metric measuring system, and experience in the use of calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges. 3D CAD/CAM programming
    Some technical level courses; ADVANCED programming. Must possess greater than one (1) year of experience in machine shop and/or die making. Solidworks 3D Design.
