The eDiscovery Technical Advisor (ETA) provides professional eDiscovery Litigation Technical services designed to promote a consistent, repeatable, and legally defensible process for identifying, preserving, collecting, processing and producing Electronically Stored Information (ESI) in response to discovery requests.
ETAs serve as expert technical users of electronic discovery applications to support attorneys and paralegal specialists who are responsible for responding to requests related to civil and criminal matters, congressional inquiries, FOIA requests and other inquiries.
The ETA will manage case matter within an electronic discovery review and analysis platform to include, but not limited to: creating cases; adding collected source data; handling user access rights; uploading data logs; de-duplicating collected source data; identifying data gaps; merging/verifying data; Coordinate collection results with client stakeholders responsible for processing discovery for review/redaction/release.
Adhere to polices and technical procedures and provide agency attorneys, paralegals, and other users of the electronic discovery review platform with training and other technical assistance.
The ETA coordinates with the Discovery IT support team on emerging technologies; development of methods to Discovery data in new technologies, and recommend process improvement, such as leveraging Robotic Process Automation to automate task and improve efficiency.
Basic Requirements:
An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance
At least 3 years of experience using eDiscovery platforms or equivalent software to perform collection of Electronically Stored Information (ESI);
Working knowledge of Enterprise IT systems, such as MS Exchange, file servers, and SharePoint, and demonstrated ability to write search criteria.
Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly to translate legal requirements to technical requirements.
Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated experience with ESI collection tools and/or eDiscovery Platforms (Clearwell, Relativity, or equivalent) to facilitate identification, Analysis and Production of ESI in support of civil and/or criminal matters.
Familiarity with end-to-end lifecycle management of litigation support matters;
Knowledge of, or demonstrated interest and aptitude for learning, legal framework that define civil and/or criminal electronic discovery practices;
Demonstrated success at working collaboratively with clients and/or attorneys to drive litigation projects forward;
Ability to provide ad hoc support to end users of the electronic discovery review platform repository;
Working knowledge in identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, and producing ESI in support of civil litigation, select FOIA requests, Congressional and other external inquiries.
Understanding of scripting and automation technologies, such as PowerShell, Python, and RPA, highly desired.
