Job Description:

Overview

Epic Games is seeking eDiscovery Specialists to join the InfoSec eDiscovery team. This team manages legal hold obligations, custodian data preservation, law enforcement response, and data subject access requests across a large and active global portfolio. These roles are built for people who come from an investigations background, including corporate security, compliance, law enforcement, HR/workplace investigations, fraud, or legal operations. If you know how to take a matter from intake to closure, document your work in a way that holds up under scrutiny, and communicate clearly with Legal,

you will thrive here. The technical tools are learnable; we want individuals who already have the judgment and discipline you bring from prior investigations work.

You will own your matters end to end, manage competing priorities across a live queue, and operate inside a structured team with defined but changing processes and experienced senior specialists from whom you can learn.

What Youll Do

Matter Management & Legal Hold Support

Support active matters through the full lifecycle: intake, triage, preservation, and closure. Maintain accurate and detailed records at every stage.

Place, confirm, track, and lift legal holds as directed; ensure all required data sources are covered and document every action in the matter record.

Monitor active matters for stalled items, missing confirmations, or approaching deadlines; escalate proactively rather than waiting to be asked.

Investigations Support

Support law enforcement response workflows: process incoming requests, apply appropriate retention and preservation actions, track statutory deadlines, and coordinate with Legal on jurisdiction-specific requirements.

Assist with player-related legal matter intake and triage; assess scope, apply initial preservation and documentation steps, and escalate to senior team

members as appropriate.

Maintain accurate investigation records throughout the matter lifecycle; document the chain of custody, actions taken, and status at every stage to ensure defensible, complete files.

Flag matters approaching statutory or legal deadlines and escalate promptly; missing a deadline in this space is not recoverable.

Forensic Lab & Device Operations

Note: Parts of this section may not apply for remote roles.

Conduct forensic imaging of laptops, mobile devices, and storage media using industry-standard tools; maintain chain of custody from device intake through storage and return.

Track and document device inventory: hardware type, make and model, serial numbers, imaging status, storage location, and return status.

Coordinate device collection and return with IT; manage the physical device lifecycle from pickup through wipe or return and ensure all steps are logged.

Follow established lab protocols for evidence handling, labeling, and secure storage; any deviation from protocol must be escalated immediately.

Operational Workflows & Documentation

Execute assigned operational workflows from intake to close, following established team processes and documenting each step for compliance,

continuity, and posterity.

Coordinate with internal teams to keep matters moving; identify blockers and resolve them without waiting to be managed.

Apply chain of custody standards to all preservation and collection activities; maintain records complete enough that any team member can pick up where you left off.

Identify and escalate time-sensitive items with legal hold or compliance implications before deadlines are missed.

Regularly communicate project status to the team during stand-up meetings.

What Were Looking For

2 to 5 years of experience in investigations, compliance, legal operations, law enforcement, corporate security, HR/workplace investigations, fraud, or a related field. A bachelors degree in criminal justice, information technology, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.

A track record of managing matters or cases from intake to closure. You understand how to structure work, document decisions, and close things out

cleanly.

Comfort working with Legal. You do not need to be an attorney, but you need to understand that accuracy, confidentiality, and documentation discipline are non-negotiable in this environment.

Strong organizational skills. This team carries a high volume of active matters simultaneously. Your ability to prioritize, track your queue, and follow through without being managed is essential.

Clear written communication. You will be updating Jira tickets, summarizing status for Legal, and documenting preservation steps. The quality of your records matters.

Willingness to learn eDiscovery tools and workflows. Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms, cloud-based collection tools, legal hold management systems, or digital forensic tools is a plus but not a requirement.

Discretion. You will handle sensitive personnel matters, active litigation, and law enforcement requests. Confidentiality is fundamental to the role.

Nice to Have

Prior experience in a legal, eDiscovery, or compliance technology environment.

Familiarity with legal hold processes, chain of custody standards, or EDRM framework.

Experience with Exterro, Relativity, Everlaw, or another legal hold or review platform.

DSAR or privacy compliance experience under GDPR or CCPA.

Digital forensics or eDiscovery certifications (EnCE, GCFE, CEDS, ACE).

Prior experience in gaming, tech, or entertainment industry legal or compliance environments.

What Success Looks Like

Within 30 days: you are working hands-on alongside the team, learning active workflows, and executing assigned tasks with guidance. You understand how the team operates and are building process fluency from day one.

Within 60 days: you are operating with increasing independence, contributing to operational workstreams, and supporting the team across active matters. Your documentation is accurate and your matter records are complete.

Within 90 days: you know the end-to-end workflow, are fully functional in your role, and are a self-directed contributor managing your own queue without daily guidance. No open items are falling through the cracks
