ED Technician (Paramedic) | UF Health Brownwood FSED | Full-time | 9am to 9pm

Under the direction of the RN, the ED Technician facilitates patient care by providing advanced physical care and clinical procedures, providing patients with comfort measures and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.

Overview:

Hours: 9am to 9pm

 

Under the direction of the RN, the ED Technician facilitates patient care by providing advanced physical care and clinical procedures, providing patients with comfort measures and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Works as a member of the ED patient care team within the guidelines of his/her certification under the direct supervision of an ED Physician.

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates clinical care that is safe, best outcome practice with all Core Measures compliant.

2. Documents care provision per departmental standards.

3. Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients and families to have an excellent hospital experience.

4. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.

5. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.

6. Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.

7. Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.

8. Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.

9. Completes other duties as requested/assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

• Associates Degree (Preferred)
• Post High School Special Training

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Florida Paramedic license
• BLS
• ACLS preferred

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
