What Youll Bring to the Role:
- A valid NC RN License with graduation from an accredited nursing program, holding at least a BSN degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital emergency department experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity such as Director, DON, or ADON.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, hospital regulations, and ED operations.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop clinical staff, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage departmental budgets, oversee staffing and scheduling, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Flexibility to assist with shifts as needed and work outside standard hours to meet patient care demands.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with process improvement projects and program development.
- Familiarity with organizational performance metrics and fiscal management.
- Additional certifications in emergency nursing or leadership (e.g., CCNL, CNML) are a plus.
Educational & Experience Preferences:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree preferred.
- Extensive hospital emergency department experience combined with proven leadership in a similar setting.
Additional Requirements:
- Must maintain current licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling, including on-call responsibilities, to ensure continuous department coverage.
