Targeted HR Consulting is seeking an experienced Ecological Restoration Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity based in the Tampa, Florida area. This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished engineering professional with deep experience designing and managing ecological restoration and mitigation projects, particularly stream, wetland, natural habitat, and ecosystem restoration initiatives.
The position combines technical leadership, project management, team development, client relationships, and business development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and lead project teams while supporting continued growth in the Florida market and potentially advancing into broader leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ecological restoration and mitigation projects from planning and design through successful delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, accounts receivable, and invoicing.
- Develop project management plans, project-specific quality plans, pricing, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate project scope and manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Provide technical leadership for stream and wetland assessment, restoration, and design.
- Support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling efforts.
- Participate in client presentations and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Lead and mentor technical staff and build effective project teams.
- Develop new client relationships and actively contribute to business development and proposal efforts.
- Support multiple delivery approaches, potentially including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Full Delivery projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- 12+ years of experience designing ecological restoration and/or mitigation projects.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
- Rosgen Level 4 Certification or similar River Course accreditation.
- Demonstrated ecological restoration experience involving streams, wetlands, natural habitats, ecosystems, or related projects.
- Experience with relevant technical software such as HEC-RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcMap, and/or MicroStation.
- Strong project management capabilities and the ability to lead technical resources and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
Preferred Experience
- CAPM or PMP certification.
- Experience working with county- and state-level clients.
- Established relationships with regulatory agencies and clients in Florida.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Full Delivery project models.
- ESC certification.
- 2-D modeling experience.
- Stormwater management design experience.
- Erosion and Sediment Control design experience.
- Experience supporting projects in Florida
Location
Hybrid schedule available: Must be on-site 3+ days per week.
Relocation assistance is not offered.
This position is ideally based in Tampa, Florida, reporting to the Tampa-area office.
