Are you passionate about working with children and making a difference in their lives each day? Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our team!
Located at 3664 Cedarcrest Road, Acworth, GA 30101, our school provides a warm, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, learn, and grow.
As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll help create meaningful learning experiences while supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child through the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach.
What You'll Do
As part of our teaching team, you will:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children.
- Supervise and interact with children throughout the daily schedule.
- Implement approved lesson plans and classroom activities using the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
- Encourage children to explore, create, build confidence, and develop independence.
- Support each child's individual developmental needs.
- Provide positive guidance and maintain clear, consistent classroom expectations.
- Communicate professionally and positively with families and members of the Leadership Team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and welcoming classroom.
- Follow all school policies and local, state, and national regulations regarding the health, safety, and care of children.
- Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, workshops, and school events.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow the guidelines outlined in the Primrose School of Acworth at Bentwater Employee Handbook.
- Support the school and Leadership Team in additional areas as needed.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, positive, energetic, and truly enjoys working with children.
Preferred qualifications include:
- High school diploma or higher required.
- Must meet all requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
- Previous experience in a licensed early childhood education or child care setting is preferred.
- Understanding of the social, emotional, physical, and creative needs of young children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, professional, and willing to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed for child care, classroom activities, safety, and emergency situations.
- Infant and Young Toddler teachers must be able to safely lift infants into and out of cribs.
