    Description

    The Sauk Prairie Early Learning Center is seeking an organized, flexible, and experienced early childhood professional to serve as an Administrative Assistant. This unique position combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on support throughout the Early Learning Center.The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Director and Assistant Director to support smooth daily operations, provide classroom coverage and assistance, maintain important center records and systems, and help respond to the changing needs of a busy early childhood program.This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys variety, understands early childhood programming, and can move comfortably between office responsibilities and direct work with children and staff.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Administrative & Operational Support

    • Assist the Director and Assistant Director with daily center operations and administrative tasks.
    • Maintain and organize child, staff, classroom, and center records.
    • Assist with enrollment paperwork, classroom rosters, attendance records, forms, and other documentation.
    • Help track staff training, credentials, required documentation, and licensing-related records.
    • Prepare materials, communications, forms, schedules, and other documents as directed.
    • Assist with supply inventory, ordering, organization, and distribution.
    • Support preparation for licensing, YoungStar, training, family events, open houses, and other center activities.
    • Help maintain organized administrative systems and identify items requiring leadership follow-up.

    Classroom & Program Support

    • Serve as a flexible classroom support person throughout the center based on daily staffing and program needs.
    • Provide classroom coverage for breaks, planning time, meetings, staff absences, and other operational needs.
    • Support classroom transitions, routines, meals, outdoor play, rest time, and other high-need portions of the day.
    • Build positive relationships with children and families across the center.
    • Model developmentally appropriate interactions, positive guidance, active supervision, and center expectations, as aligned with Pyramid Model.
    • Assist teachers with classroom organization, materials, preparation, and implementation of center-wide practices.
    • Provide additional support during challenging classroom situations or periods of increased need.

    Daily Center Support

    • Help monitor the overall flow of the center and communicate staffing, classroom, facility, or operational needs to the Director or Assistant Director.
    • Assist with daily operational responsibilities as assigned.
    • Respond with flexibility to immediate center needs while helping maintain consistency and continuity for children and staff.
    • Serve as an additional qualified resource throughout the building.
    • Complete other duties that support the safe, organized, and effective operation of the Early Learning Center.
