Job Responsibilities

Provide statewide ASL instruction to professionals serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, children and community members; provide statewide language mentoring to children and their families in their natural environment; provide statewide professional development for specific skill development; provide online and virtual ASL learning opportunities. Provide Deaf Mentor training in the natural environment by designing activities that will promote the childs acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Must have a Bachelors Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or related field and 3 years of experience teaching ASL, or upon approval from HR, an Associates degree in the above areas with 5 years experience or a HS Diploma with 8 years of experience in above areas; Native or near-native ASL user.

Additional Comments

If selected for an interview you must provide verification of your highest level of education (i.e., copy of BA Degree, high school diploma, college transcript) and if applicable, licensure and/or certification (i.e., nursing licensure, teacher licensure, bus driving certification).
