The Early Childhood Teacher plans and delivers developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children in an early childhood education setting. The Early Childhood Teacher must be able to actively engage with children throughout the day, including sitting, standing, bending, walking, and assisting with age-appropriate care routines.

Description:

Birch Agency is seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our education team in the Reading, PA. The Early Childhood Teacher will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.

The Early Childhood Teacher plans and delivers developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children in an early childhood education setting. This role requires patience, strong communication skills, creativity, and a commitment to supporting each child s individual growth and learning needs.
Responsibilities:

• 
  Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.
  
• 
  Create a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  
• 
  Support children s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  
• 
  Establish consistent routines, classroom expectations, and positive behavior supports.
  
• 
  Monitor children s progress and maintain accurate developmental records.
  
• 
  Provide individualized guidance and support based on each child s needs.
  
• 
  Supervise children closely and maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  
• 
  Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
  
• 
  Collaborate with teaching assistants, administrators, specialists, and other education professionals.
  
• 
  Maintain classroom materials, learning centers, and displays.
  
• 
  Follow licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies.
  
• 
  Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and family engagement activities.
  
• 
  Support children with transitions, daily routines, meals, toileting, and other age-appropriate care needs.

Qualifications:

• 
  Associate or bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  
• 
  Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting.
  
• 
  Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices
