JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Student Service Supervisor – Early Childhood Program, the Early Childhood Education Coordinator for Curriculum and Staff Development will support the Preschool Program operated by the ESC of Lake Erie West. The Coordinator will work directly with teachers, educational aides, and substitute teachers to ensure high quality classroom instruction, support evidence-based practices including data collection and reporting, and support the creation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for each child. The Coordinator will serve as a mentor to new staff. In addition, the coordinator will develop, implement, and document a program of professional learning focused on continuous improvement. The Coordinator will also assist in ensuring all preschool program sites meet the highest requirements of Ohio's Step Up to Quality program.QUALIFICATIONSCurrent Ohio State Board of Education Teaching License in one of the following:o A valid early childhood intervention specialist licenseo A valid education of the handicapped license with an endorsement in pre- kindergarten special needs or early education of the handicappedo A valid pre-kindergarten license or an early childhood license with an endorsement in pre-kindergarten special needs or early education of the handicappedo A valid primary intervention specialist license (P-5)Three years of experience teaching young childrenThree years of experience teaching special educationValid administrative license preferredMaster's Degree in administration or special education preferredExperience in supervising/evaluating professional staff preferredESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork directly with teachers, educational aides, and substitute teachers to ensure high-quality classroom instructionWork directly with teachers to ensure high-quality, evidence-based practicesWork directly with teachers and related service professionals to ensure that progress reports, IEPs, Child Outcome Summaries (COS), and ETRs are high-quality and align with district expectations, state, and federal regulationsSupport and collaborate in the recruitment, retention, and assignment of paraprofessionals, educational aides, and substitute teachers, including:o Manage paraprofessional training data and support training for compliance; provide training to paraprofessionals as neededo Build rapport with paraprofessionals, educational aides, and substitute teachers; act as a liaison for support staff with professional staff and administration.o Assist with paraprofessional appreciation eventsSchedule, facilitate, or provide high-quality professional development for staff and paraprofessionalsEnsure that training and training documentation is up to date and in compliance with current policy and law.Ensure that documentation and training of staff members is current and in compliance with current policy and lawSupport the Early Childhood Diagnostic ProcessCoordinate meetings (e.g., IEP, ETR, TPC); Attend IEP, IAT, and TPC meetings upon request; review and evaluate ETR, IEP, and other documents for quality and accuracy; Monitor and sign-off on completed documentsAssist the Student Service Supervisor – Early Childhood Program in establishing an efficient and effective system to communicate with staff at multiple locations; Maintain an ongoing and visible presence at each program siteAssist the Student Service Supervisor – Early Childhood Program in maintaining a schedule of regular staff meetingsEvaluate assigned preschool staff members using the OTES processWork with staff members to evaluate and improve programsAssist the Student Service Supervisor – Early Childhood Program, and Assistant Superintendent – Student Services and Special Programs in annual program evaluation and strategic improvement plans as required by state and federal regulationsParticipate in site visits, state audits, reviews, and/or evaluationsSALARYBased on salary schedule and/or commensurate with experience and education.See attached job description for full position details.#J-18808-Ljbffr
