Early Childhood Assistant Teacher - Infant, Toddler & Preschool Programs
Location: The Learning Experience - Jenison, MI
Pay: $16-$18 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
The Learning Experience - Jenison is seeking a caring and flexible Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving children from infancy through preschool. This role provides valuable classroom support while helping create engaging learning experiences and maintaining a positive environment for children and families.
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy variety in their day and want to gain experience across multiple age groups in a supportive early childhood education setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers with daily classroom routines and activities
- Assist with learning centers, group activities, and classroom transitions
- Help create a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Support meal, rest time, and classroom preparation routines
- Provide classroom coverage as needed throughout the center
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Follow all Michigan childcare licensing and safety requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous childcare or preschool experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and comfortable working with multiple age groups
- Reliable, nurturing, and professional approach
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
