Renewables Project Engineering - Wind / Solar / Battery

Project engineer responsible for project development and execution at our Renewable generation sites (Wind, Solar, Battery) in the NSP Region (MN, ND, SD). Project engineer will perform all project management activities required on the projects. Some travel will be required. Position is 4 days in office, 1 day remote.

Support Xcel Energy wind farms as a capital engineer/project manager/project lead. Responsibilities include managing reliability and capital projects, coordinating fleet initiatives across multiple wind farms, financial management of projects, scheduling, planning, contractor coordination, documentation, and project execution. Primary focus is on mechanical and electrical equipment failures and associated projects.

Project management experience.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Engineering background (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).

Ideal candidate background and how many years required?

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background.

Experience can range from recent graduates to candidates with 15+ years of experience.

Role is project-management heavy with engineering knowledge applied to troubleshooting and reliability issues.

Are there any certifications/education that the candidate must possess?

Bachelor's degree in engineering.

Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.

ABET-accredited degree preferred/expected pending final confirmation.

Are there any preferred or "nice to have" skills?

PMP certification.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience with project management software.

Accounting/business systems experience.

Drawing/print management experience.
