JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of a machine, structure, or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure, or system operates. Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce the final product. Monitors product quality and controls process efficiency. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommends improvements.
**Scope of Work / Project Overview** - Multiyear hydroelectric facility projects in Western Wisconsin involving dam reconstruction and upgrades. - Heavy structural steel and reinforced concrete work; work in water with staged installations. - Significant regulatory involvement with FERC. - Estimated 56 years of resource needs. **Required Technical Skills** - Structural engineering focus (steel, concrete). - ABETaccredited engineering degree. - Microsoft Office; heavy SharePoint use. - Ability to open native CAD files (MicroStation ideal). - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
**Preferred / NicetoHave Skills** - Hydro or waterinwork experience. - Experience with FERC-regulated projects. - PE or FE not required but preferred.
