Responsibilities

Description:This position is open to Seminole County Public School Instructors only.Teaching strategies will be incorporated to foster student learning, success and retention. Adjunct Faculty will work with other faculty in support of curricula improvement as appropriate to promote students'' success and mastery of course and program competencies. The person in this position will plan, organize and teach classes as assigned. Flexible hours and days, assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.Required Qualifications:1. Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in in any combination of the following subject areas/disciplines: Behavior Sciences Counseling Education Psychology Guidance Mental Health Psychology Social and Behavior Sciences Social Psychology Social Work Student Development ServicesDesired Qualifications: Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching. Teaching experience. Myers-Briggs qualified preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: A personal and professional commitment to continually update skills and knowledge of this field. Understanding of and commitment to the use of instructional technology. Should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. English reading, writing, and speaking skills at the native level of fluency. Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population. Ability to relate to high school students.Work Environment and Special Considerations. 1. Work in a classroom/laboratory environment. 2. This position is open to Seminole County Public School Instructors only.SCPS Dual Enrollment Instructors are paid according to Seminole State College's Non-Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule at an hourly rate of $17.26. Conditions of Employment

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more.
