This individual will oversee a team of engineers and technicians responsible for process stability, yield enhancement, manufacturing efficiency, and the introduction of new technologies.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in dry etch processing, proven leadership experience in semiconductor manufacturing, and the ability to drive improvements in quality, capacity, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and mentor process engineers and technicians, establishing performance expectations and supporting professional growth.
  • Oversee process control, sustaining engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives within the dry etch operation.
  • Drive process optimization, yield improvement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency projects.
  • Investigate complex process and equipment-related issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations, equipment engineering, process integration, and R&D teams to meet production targets and product quality requirements.
  • Evaluate and qualify new equipment, toolsets, and process capabilities to support manufacturing flexibility and future capacity needs.
  • Develop process specifications for emerging technologies, characterize new processes, and facilitate their transition into production.
  • Assess equipment and technology requirements, build technical justifications, and support the implementation of new manufacturing tools.
  • Analyze process data and experimental results to identify opportunities for improved performance and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple locations to share best practices and implement process improvements.
  • Serve as a technical leader for the department, providing guidance on troubleshooting, risk assessment, and complex engineering decisions.
  • Promote a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong technical understanding of semiconductor dry etch processes, including underlying principles, materials, applications, and process-control methods.
  • At least 3 years of engineering leadership experience in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility.
  • Hands-on knowledge of dry etch equipment and processes associated with Applied Materials (AMAT), Lam Research (LAM), and/or Tokyo Electron (TEL).
  • Familiarity with advanced CMOS and RF semiconductor manufacturing processes, including the relationship between process performance and device yield.
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and resolving complex manufacturing or process challenges.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and data-driven process optimization.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, assess technical risks, and deliver results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with PROMIS manufacturing work-in-process (WIP) management systems.
  • Experience using JMP statistical analysis software.
  • Experience supporting process qualification, equipment implementation, and technology transfer initiatives.
