    The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations,  is hiring qualified  Drrum instructors. Experience with an additional instrument preferred.

    A college degree in music is NOT required, although preferred. A few of our best teachers have been performers who have 3+ years of teaching experience, are experienced performers, great with children, and have an outgoing personality.

    We are seeking an energetic and experienced Drum Faculty member to join our team! The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching students ages 4 and up, and Adults, and can help to provide a great musical foundation. This is an in-school (not in-home or online-only) position.

    The successful candidate will be a W2 employee,not an independent contractor.  

    Responsibilities: 
    • Be trained in our lessons program
    • Keep internal lessons notes 
    • Prepare students for community performances and school performances
    • May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.
    • Will teach small groups and bands  (regular group pay rate  -  higher)
    Qualifications
    • At least 1-2+ years' experience teaching drums and percussion to ages 5 to Adult.
    • Solid Drum performance skills
    • Second instrument - a plus (Piano, Guitar, Bass)
    • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or  related field preferred
    • Ability to create a warm, engaging, and encouraging music learning experience in 1-on-1
    • Comfortable leading small groups, classroom management skills
    • Must pass background test, showing suitability to teach children
    • Can work independently, and follow program direction at times.
