The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Drug Manufacturing Technician for a prominent client of ours.  This position is in North Chicago, IL 60064. Details for the position are as follows:

Drug Manufacturing Technician I

Location: Lake County, IL – Onsite
Pay Rate: $22.62/hour
Contract Duration: 1 year
Schedule: First Shift
Interview: Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drug Manufacturing Technician I to support the preparation, labeling, assembly, and packaging of pharmaceutical products and patient-specific kits.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in healthcare, pharmacy, clinical, laboratory, or patient-care environments who are comfortable handling syringes, vials, needles, medications, or similar medical supplies.

Previous pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds such as Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Medication Technician, Patient Care Technician, CNA, Caregiver, Phlebotomist, Clinical Assistant, Veterinary Technician/Assistant, or Lab Assistant are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Label individual syringes and vials with patient-specific information and place them into designated bags or cartons.
  • Place tablets or capsules into bottles and accurately label bottles with individual patient numbers.
  • Assemble small pharmaceutical kits containing items such as IV bags, syringes, vials, and other components.
  • Label bottles, syringes, cards, cartons, and other materials accurately.
  • Package completed containers into shipping cartons.
  • Fill bottles and blister packaging using semi-automatic equipment.
  • Perform quality checks on documentation, drug products, labels, and materials.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness throughout the labeling and assembly process.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Sanitize workstations and perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Follow established procedures and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling syringes, vials, needles, medications, or similar medical supplies is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with labeling, packaging, medication preparation, or kit assembly is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written procedures.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured, quality-focused environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Must be able to reliably work an early first-shift schedule beginning at either 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM.
  • Must be comfortable interviewing and working onsite in Lake County, IL.

Available Schedules

Group 1:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Optional overtime may include starting at 6:00 AM or remaining until 4:30 PM.

Group 2:
Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Optional Friday overtime is available from 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with half-day Friday overtime opportunities also available.

Overtime is not mandatory but is highly encouraged.
