Position Summary
My Client is seeking a safety-focused Dropped Objects Coordinator to support field operations by managing dropped object prevention programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards. This role is responsible for identifying potential dropped object hazards, implementing preventive measures, performing audits, and promoting a strong safety culture across project sites.
Key Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and administer the site's Dropped Object Prevention Program.
+ Conduct field inspections of scaffolding, cranes, lifting equipment, elevated work areas, and structures to identify dropped object hazards.
+ Perform dropped object risk assessments and ensure proper mitigation measures are implemented.
+ Verify tools, equipment, and materials are properly secured and compliant with company standards.
+ Lead dropped object surveys, audits, and incident investigations.
+ Track and maintain dropped object registers, inspection records, and corrective action reports.
+ Collaborate with construction, maintenance, operations, and safety teams to resolve identified hazards.
+ Deliver training and awareness programs related to dropped object prevention and best practices.
+ Review lift plans, work permits, and work packages to ensure dropped object controls are incorporated.
+ Monitor compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
+ Support incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
+ Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and behavioral safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or safety certification preferred.
+ Experience in construction, industrial maintenance, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
+ Knowledge of dropped object prevention principles, rigging practices, and working-at-heights requirements.
+ Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
+ Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
+ Ability to work in field environments and perform site walkdowns in active construction or operating facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
+ DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) certification or equivalent training.
+ OSHA 30-Hour certification.
+ Experience with cranes, rigging, scaffolding, and lifting operations.
+ Previous experience supporting construction megaprojects or large industrial facilities.
+ Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience.
