Class Title

Driver-Repairer Tire work activities are not further divided into separate classes.

Driver -Repairer Tire Worker Functions include Driving-Operating.

Duties

Driver - Repairer Tire work examples: Spends majority of time in the field changing and/or repairing flat and damaged tires and tubes. Drives pickup truck equipped with radio. Responds to emergency calls for assistance. keeps assigned vehicle serviced and loaded with tire and tube change and repair equipment and supplies, spare tires and tubes etc. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications

1). Demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.

2). Hold valid state Drivers license.

3). Two years of training and experience as tire repairer.

4). An occupationally significant combination of spatial discrimination; eye-hand-foot coordination; manual dexterity, and physical stamina.

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and material; may involve moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (12-50 pounds).

Tasks may require perception and discrimination of color, sound, odor as well as visual and ability for communication.

Job must be performed with or without accommodations.

Work Environment: Tasks may require exposure to extreme temperatures, strong odors, toxic/poisonous agents, smoke, dust, pollen, water, humidity, bright/dim lights, noise extreme, machinery, and traffic hazards.
