Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Driver Qualification Clerk to join our team! This role combines excellent customer service skills with strong technical and compliance abilities. The ideal candidate will work directly with commercial drivers throughout the qualification process while managing DOT compliance requirements and maintaining accurate records through various software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide drivers through qualification and onboarding processes, both remotely and in person.
- Assist drivers with completing online and paper applications and required documentation.
- Provide patient, professional support to drivers who may be unfamiliar with or resistant to technology.
- Manage and track driver qualification files to ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Review and evaluate documentation including criminal background reports, medical examinations, driving records, and other qualification materials.
- Maintain accurate records using Excel and multiple compliance and tracking software platforms.
- Monitor deadlines and follow up on missing or expiring compliance documentation.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, management, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of qualification requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to explain processes clearly and assist individuals with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable learning and applying DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, compliance, human resources, or administrative support is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
- Experience working with compliance management software or applicant tracking systems.
- Ability to analyze documentation and make compliance-related determinations based on established regulations.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Pay: $12/hour
