    Description

     

    The Driver Manager is responsible for the safe and productive utilization of our equipment by assisting and managing the efforts our drivers.

     

    • Prepare driver schedules for local and long-distance transports
    • Assign load to equipment and driver in a manner to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery and to meet the customer requirements
    • Review customer orders and determine proper routing, equipment, and manpower requirements
    • Supervise drivers
    • Ensure the most efficient freight movement and cost-effective service
    • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and safety regulations
    • Complete incident/accident reports as required
    • Resolve transportation issues with urgency and professionalism
    • Organize and maintain all paperwork, data files, and reports

     

    • Must have experience in dispatching for a trucking company
    • Must have knowledge of the local area
    • Must have basic knowledge of DOT laws and requirements
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve

     

    Knowledge of DOT laws and requirements is preferred.

     

    High school diploma required

    Must have 2-3 years dispatch/driver manager experience in a fast-paced environment

    Must have at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open office environment. Candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
