How the STAR Network Works
Unlike traditional rideshare services, STAR Transportation focuses on pre-scheduled, personalized transportation for individuals traveling to medical appointments, community activities, personal errands, and other destinations.
As a STAR Transportation Partner, you can:
- Drive your own vehicle: Use your approved personal vehicle to provide ambulatory passenger transportation.
- Expand your earning opportunities: Qualify for additional wheelchair and stretcher transportation assignments through optional training and approval.
- Earn based on service: Compensation is determined by the level of passenger assistance required—not the luxury or type of vehicle you drive.
- Enjoy predictable scheduling: Most transportation requests are booked in advance, with additional opportunities for last-minute trips.
- Receive assigned trips: Serve passengers within our established Central Florida transportation network.
- Choose your availability: Select the blocks of time you want to make yourself available for transportation assignments.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome individuals who are:
- Compassionate, patient, professional, and service-oriented.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to passenger safety.
- Comfortable assisting seniors and individuals with varying mobility needs.
- Able to communicate professionally with passengers and our dispatch team.
- Interested in providing a higher standard of personalized transportation.
CNAs, nurses, home health aides, and experienced caregivers are strongly encouraged to apply!
Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
Basic Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
- Current vehicle registration and required automobile insurance.
- 2022 or newer vehicle preferred. Older vehicles may be considered if they are in exceptional condition and pass inspection.
- Reliable, clean, properly maintained personal vehicle.
- Rideshare or appropriate commercial-use insurance endorsement as required by STAR.
- Ability to complete STAR’s onboarding, safety, and passenger-assistance training.
- Smartphone capable of accessing transportation assignments.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and applicable DOT medical screening.

Qualified transportation partners may be eligible for a voucher or reimbursement of up to $30 toward an approved rideshare insurance endorsement.
