_Now Hiring - CDL-A Truck Driver | Lumber & Building Materials Delivery_


*Location: Des Moines, Iowa


*Pay: $24-$28/hr.


*Summary:


+ As a _CDL-A Truck Driver_ , you'll play a critical role in delivering lumber, building materials, and construction products to residential and commercial job sites throughout Iowa. You'll work closely with contractors, builders, and yard personnel to ensure materials arrive safely, accurately, and on time.

+ This is more than just a driving position. You'll be a key part of the customer experience, helping load, secure, transport, and unload materials while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and service.


*What You'll Be Doing Day to Day:


+ Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks and tractor-trailers, in compliance with DOT regulations.

+ Deliver lumber, drywall, trusses, siding, roofing materials, windows, doors, and other building products to customer locations and construction sites.

+ Inspect loads to ensure accuracy and properly secure materials for safe transportation.

+ Assist with loading and unloading deliveries using forklifts, truck-mounted forklifts, boom equipment, or other material handling equipment as needed.

+ Navigate residential, commercial, and active construction job sites while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.

+ Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with dispatch, yard personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and job site conditions.

+ Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and hours-of-service requirements.


*Qualifications:


+ Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record - Considering Class B as well depending on experience

+ Minimum of 2 years of CDL driving experience preferred.

+ Experience operating flatbed trailers and securing loads with straps, chains, and tarps is preferred.

+ Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and safe transportation practices.

+ Ability to safely handle and deliver building materials in a variety of weather and job site conditions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Grimes, IA.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $41600.00/yr.


Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
