Penmac Staffing is hiring for a Driver Helper position with a local nonprofit organization. This is a full-time, short-term opportunity that could extend beyond the initial assignment based on business needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team, and helping with the collection and transportation of donated items.Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50-100 pounds on a regular basis
- No lifting restrictions
- Ability to load, unload, and move large items such as furniture and appliances
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with donors
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in both warehouse and delivery environments
- Class E driver's license preferred for driving responsibilities
- Ability to safely operate a box truck when assigned
ResponsibilitiesAs a Driver Helper, you will assist with the pickup and transportation of donated items while supporting warehouse operations as needed.
Job duties include:
- Riding along with drivers to pick up donations from residential and commercial locations
- Loading and unloading building materials, household goods, appliances, and furniture
- Safely moving donated items into trucks and warehouse areas
- Assisting with sorting and organizing inventory in the warehouse
- Helping maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Operating a box truck on an as-needed basis for qualified drivers
- Following safety procedures while handling heavy or bulky items
