Job Type: 12-month Contract, likely extension
Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off, (16HR Days)
Field travel: Personal vehicle required - mileage reimbursement at applicable IRS rates
Pay: $52.00–$57.00 per hour, DOE
Additional compensation: $400/day for miscellaneous expenses
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee exploratory and development drilling operations at the rig site. This role is responsible for safe, compliant and cost-effective execution of the drilling program while coordinating rig personnel, service companies and office-based operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite oversight of exploratory and development wells.
- Lead safe operations and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Execute drilling programs efficiently while optimizing performance, schedule and cost.
- Monitor rig activity, personnel, equipment and changing operational conditions.
- Take timely action during operational, safety or emergency situations.
- Track costs, review performance and maintain accurate daily operational records.
- Coordinate and evaluate drilling contractors and service company activities.
- Maintain clear communication between the rig site and office.
- Review and improve drilling programs, procedures and field documentation.
- Support permitting, emergency preparedness and operational reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of drilling operations experience, including senior rig-site supervision.
- Proven experience supporting exploratory and development wells.
- Strong knowledge of drilling programs, procedures, safety practices and regulatory compliance.
- Experience coordinating multiple service companies and functional areas.
- Demonstrated ability to manage costs, prioritize resources and make independent field decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to work a 14/14 rotation with 16-hour day shifts in a field-based environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with permitting and emergency response activities.
- Experience preparing drilling reports, manuals and operational documentation.
- Experience translating business objectives into practical field execution plans.
